A handful of Bishop Lynch soccer standouts earned All-State honors for their work on the pitch during the 2015-2016 season, while several others picked up All-District selections.

Seniors Atu Mshana, Katelyn Curtis and Mica MacKay were 1st Team All-State picks after leading the Lady Friars to a 19-5-1 record and appearance in the TAPPS Division 1 championship game.

Senior Nick Vega was a 2nd Team All-State selection and junior Will Gates received All-State Honorable Mention for the Friars, who finished 12-9-0 overall and qualified for the playoffs.

The All-District Teams were cluttered with Friars and Lady Friars, led by Mshana, who was named the Most Valuable Player. Mshana, Curtis and MacKay were 1st Team All-District picks for the Lady Friars.

Vega was named Co-Defensive Player of the Year in the district, and, along with Gates, was a 1st Team selection.

Six from BL received 2nd Team All-District honors and another four received All-District Honorable Mention.

Recognized for student achievement, leadership, and innovation, Bishop Lynch High School continues to build on a rich heritage that prepares graduates for a lifetime of success. Located in East Dallas and accessible from several major highways, Bishop Lynch serves students throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

In its 50 years, Bishop Lynch has produced more than 350 National Merit Scholars, was named the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) Academic State Champions from 2004-2012, and for 10 consecutive years was recognized as overall TAPPS State Henderson Cup Champions for combined excellence in academics, athletics, and the arts.
