Bryan Adams band stops to take a quick picture before performing at halftime

Quarterback Cade Fennegan threw for four touchdowns and ran for one as the Wildcats defeated cross town rival Bryan Adams 41-8, October 20, at Franklin Stadium.  Fennegan connected with Justin Cain for an 18 yd TD pass in the first quarter to take an early lead, but Cougar Quarterback Rekedron Murphy answered late in the second quarter with a one yard touchdown run and completed a pass to Stone Ramsey for the two point conversion, giving Bryan Adams the lead with less than 30 seconds remaining in the half.  Lightning struck on the ensuing kick off as Xavier Gibson returned the kick off 83 yards for a touchdown to give Woodrow a four point lead going into halftime.

The second half was all Woodrow Wilson (7-1, 5-0) as the offense scored two touchdowns in the third quarter and two in the fourth.  Fennegan connected with wide receiver Travis West for an 18 yard touchdown pass and then later in the period, connected with Curtis Thomas for a 57 yard touchdown.  In the fourth quarter, Fennegan connected with Justin Cain for a 31 yard touchdown pass, and then ran for a 20 yard score after the Cougar defense flushed Fennegan out of the pocket.

While the Wildcat offense gets most of the attention, the defense held the Cougars to 145 yards total offense, 46 yards rushing and 99 yards passing, and forced three turnovers.  The defense held Bryan Adams (4-5, 4-2) to eight points and a scoreless second half.  The defense is led by linebackers Lance Albert, John Keeter, and a front line of Cole McCrary, Josh Solman, Reece Albert, and Z’Core Brooks.

The Woodrow Wilson Sweetheart Drill Team celebrated its 60th anniversary by performing with the Bryan Adams Belles at halftime.  As always, the annual Bryan Adams, Woodrow Wilson rivalry is a colorful night with the Bryan Adam Belles, the Woodrow Wilson Sweethearts, the cheerleaders, the bands, and all the pageantry.  This year was no exception.

The Wildcats are led by head coach Bobby Estes.
