WHITE ROCK ROWING RECORD FALL RACE SEASON

White Rock Rowing (WRR), guided by new head coach Ed Golding, finished the fall head race season (5K) earning 30 medals throughout the region.

WRR started the season Oct 1st at the Head of the Oklahoma regatta in Oklahoma City, capturing 6 medals, 3 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze and qualifying for the OKC Night Sprints.

After a fast turnaround, and little time to recover, the team headed to Waco October 8th to race at the Head of the Brazos. With strong performances throughout the day, WRR earned 12 medals and was the top rowing club from Dallas in overall medals, a first for WRR!

Next, they headed to Austin Oct 29th for the Head of the Colorado, where they managed to top their race results in Waco with a series of wins including 5 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 4 bronze over two-days of competition.

WRR capped off its fall season in Chattanooga, TN at the Head of the Hooch, the second largest regatta in the country. With many races topping 80+ entries, making for a highly competitive regatta, 13 WRR boats qualified for automatic entry next year finishing within 10% of the winning time in their races.

With a successful head race season behind them, WRR begins winter training to lay the foundation for sprint races that will begin in early March.
