St. John’s Episcopal School inducted 20 new members to its chapter of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) April 15. The nationwide society serves students who have demonstrated excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship and character. To attain membership in the St. John’s chapter, seventh or eighth grade students must present evidence of these traits and achieve a grade average of 93% or above over the most recent five trimesters at St. John’s.

The St. John’s chapter of NJHS is directed by Middle School faculty members Mrs. Jayne Davenport and Mrs. Kathryn Potter. Members raise money throughout the year to support a variety of student-selected organizations and projects, such as Vogel Alcove and Genesis Women’s Shelter. St. John’s NJHS members inducted in the seventh grade are required to complete 40 hours of community service before the end of their eighth grade year.

New members are: Kate Agostini, Bolton Beck, Bennett Carley, Connor Chen, Jenna Conn, Ally Corsi, Barrett Dollar, Hannah Goodwyn, Allison Herring, Lily Houdek, Mac Jordan, Caroline Kulas, Rowan Mathews, Kaycie Meinhardt, Megan Muscato, Suzette Odom, Megan Ortman, Isabella Poscente, Elise Welch and Reagan Withrow.
