Tyson Woods served delicious grilled chili dogs.

Dallas dogs kicked off the holiday season with a visit from Santa and the “Lighting of the Christmas Tree” in Central Community Dog Park on Saturday afternoon.

Tyson Woods, who leads the Sunday morning worship service in the dog park (yes, you can bring your dog to church) served a delicious “top dog” meal to dog owners while long-time park regulars passed out delicious cookies from Festive Kitchen and bags of dog treats from Pets Supplies Plus.

It was a perfect day for the party, sunny and 70, but a winter scene back-drop was available for doggie portraits.  T-shirts sporting this year’s dog park Christmas logo and other Christmas items were for sale.

Over a hundred dogs showed up for the second annual event to enjoy music and whatever dogs do in the one-acre fenced in dog park located on the grounds of Central Christian Church.

Sunday morning worship is held in the park on the first and third Sunday of the month at 9 a.m. It’s casual dress, coffee and do-nuts and camaraderie with other folks who share your love of man’s best friend.  There is plenty of seating and plenty of parking so take your dog to church. All are welcome!
