Join The Disciple Women for a Trip to the Ft. Worth Stockyards

The Disciples Women of Central Christian Church are off again—this time to the Ft. Worth Stockyards for their annual field trip.  We will leave Central at 10 am. Tuesday, April 3 for the car-pool drive to Ft. Worth, Where the West Began, to spend some time leaning about our own culture at the Stockyards Museum.  At 11:30 we will gather on the museum porch (just like the olden days) to watch the cattle drive as the cowboys and Longhorns parade down the street in front of the museum.

We have reservations at famous H3 Ranch serving spit-roasted pig, finger lickin’ ribs and wood-grilled steaks. Lighter fare includes table-side prepared guacamole and Wife of Kit Carson Soup, the original tortilla soup.  The restaurant boasts “best you’ve ever eaten” fried catfish as well as sweet chicken thighs, so there will be something to please everyone’s taste.

If you want to browse the shops after lunch, we will make time, but don’t worry if you just want to “sit a spell” you can do that, too.

The entrance fee to the museum is $2.00 per person and lunch prices are as varied as the menu. Everyone attending this fun-filled day will receive a special gift—a pair of beautiful Western-themed earrings by Mi Beada.

This field trip is just one more way that Disciples Women get to know each other and celebrate a sisterhood of love.  Exploring creative ways to enable women to develop a sense of personal responsibility for the whole mission of the church of Jesus Christ is just one of the missions of Disciples Women. You do not have to be a member of Central or any church to participate. For more information call Shelia at 214-526-7291.
