Meet Stephanie Sager: 2018/19 NBA XPLOR Intern

Stephanie Sager comes to Dallas and Central Christian Church from Tucson, Arizona as a participant in the National Benevolent Association’s XPLOR program.

The program is a prophetic movement of and for young adults who are considering a career of service to others. It provides 10-months of professional development and vocational discernment opportunities for 21- to 30-year-olds while living simply in the community and engaging in service and/or justice work. Dallas interns reside on the campus of Lakewood’s Juliette Fowler Communities.

Stephanie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Minor in Philosophy and Religion at Tucson’s Eureka College.  Having already served as an Elder in her hometown church and in leadership roles in regional and general youth and young adult groups, Stephanie sees the internship as an opportunity to explore her faith and vocational interests in greater depth.

“I have always had a strong desire to help people who find themselves in unfair situations,” she said.

Stephanie is especially interested in suicide prevention and domestic violence.

She loves music, playing and conducting, and she loves theater, on-stage and backstage.

Many of the women at Central have already witnessed Stephanie’s “jump right in attitude” and willingness to help.

Central staff welcomed her Thursday with lunch at Celebration Restaurant and all the congregation members are looking forward to getting to know her.

XPLOR is a wonderful program of young adults preparing to make great changes in the world and Central is grateful to be a part of the program.
