This month one of our beneficiaries is Patriot PAWS Service Dogs which aids two different groups at the same time.

The mission of Patriot PAWS is to train and provide service dogs of the highest quality at no cost to disabled American veterans and others with mobile disabilities and PTS in order to help restore their physical and emotional independence.

Here is the best part. Patriot PAWS uses prison inmates to help train some of their service dogs. The goal of the program is to train prison inmates to train service dogs for disabled veterans. It takes 1½-2 years to train one service dog at a cost of about $33,000 per dog. The program’s development has exceeded all expectations.

I’m beyond floored by the benefits to our very important Military Vets and how Patriot PAWS helps inmates learn a skill that they can use once their sentence is complete. WIN/WIN

Wait there is more!!! Lakewood Vet Clinic is providing the snacks and matching our donation. Patriot PAWS will be receiving $20/painter when you join us on Sept 25th. Register here by Sept 16, 2016 and don’t miss out on a great opportunity to get a painting of your pet and help a Military vet.
