Most of Dallas' administrative offices will be closed for Labor Day

Just about everyone is excited for Labor Day Weekend and the extra day it affords people to sleep in and relax but people sometimes forget that city officials also get the day off and many of Dallas' public offices will be closed. Residents of Dallas should take notice of what offices will remain open and which will close.

If residents have any non-emergency problems, their best bet will be to contact the 3-1-1 Customer Help Line. Representatives will be available to take service-related urgent calls such as water main breaks, downed trees/limbs, signal lights out/down and animal control.

The Police and Dallas Fire Rescue administrative offices will be closed but the servicemen will continue to operate on a normal schedule. Animal services will be able to respond to any emergency calls (bites, trapped or confined animals) but administrative offices will be closed. All calls will be handled through 311.

Dallas city offices will all be closed, as will all public libraries and all Parks and Recreation offices, facilities and recreation centers. The court administrative offices at 106 S. Harwood and 2014 Main will be closed on September 3 (Saturday) and 5 (Monday) but mail and online payments for citations and fines will still be accepted with postmark dates accepted.

Finally, Sanitation offices will be closed but collection of residential garbage and recycled materials will follow normal schedules.
