They’ve scoured the streets in Paris looking for the latest styles and trends and now Harry and Vicki DeMarco are back in the Big D.  

And they didn’t come empty-handed.  Armed with a variety of chic clothing, the owners of H.D.’s Clothing Company in Lakewood are inviting you to come take a peek at this season’s collection. This Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 6 p.m., you can stop in and check out the gorgeous new frocks and other apparel that are impossible to find in other Dallas shops.

The French are known for their fashion-forward accouterment and Vicki has the in-track on what’s hot for this fall.  Tunics are still popular, but with a twist.

“You need to know your math. In other words, everything has geometry to it. The print is either blocked with color-blocking or the tunic sleeves are asymmetrical,” she said.  As far as colors, the French are currently enamored with orange, green and red hues.

“I know in the States people are touting burgundy, but not so much in Europe,” she said.  “Also, this year what’s happening is metallic, and not the metallic of old.  It’s a very subtle metallic that’s running through the fabric that just gives you a little hint of a shine,” she said.

The always en vogue French women are also still sporting pencil skirts and slim-leg pants but DeMarco noted that a slightly flared pant leg is also gaining popularity.  And don’t worry fellas, Vicki and Harry haven’t forgotten about you.

“Men’s wear is happening, but it’s not the men’s wear of old where you wear a two-piece suit. It’s very sexy with a little crystal detail at the shoulder,” she said.
