People like to plan ahead when it comes to the Winter Holidays. They buy plane tickets earlier, they get their Christmas shopping done early and they plan every detail of their vacation beforehand. So, it also makes sense to plan ahead on what to do with that Christmas tree once the holidays are over. However, disposing of a 12-foot Christmas tree is easier said than done.

Fortunately, the City of Dallas already has it all planned out for its residents. During the week after Christmas (December 26 - January 2), residents can take their Christmas tree to any Home Depot store in Dallas and have their tree recycled. There are seven Home Depots located in Dallas:

  • 11255 Garland Road - Dallas, TX 75218
  • 11468 Grissom Lane - Dallas, TX 75229
  • 6110 Lemmon Avenue - Dallas, TX 75209
  • 6000 Skillman Street - Dallas, TX 75231
  • 2610 Fort Worth Avenue - Dallas, TX 75211
  • 2901 W. Wheatland Road - Dallas, TX 75237
  • 11682 Forest Central Drive - Dallas, TX 75243

The city asks that all trees be stripped of tinsel, ornaments, lights, nails and tree stands before being dropped off.
