Woodrow Wilson Volleyball Falls to Carrollton Creekview

The Woodrow Wilson volleyball team was stopped cold in its pursuit of a state championship by Carrollton Creekview on Friday, November 4 in area playoffs. The Wildcats never really threatened Carrollton Creekview and fell in three straight sets (25-10, 25-16, 25-13).

The team started off the season poorly, winning only two of their first 14 matches. In fact, during that stretch, the Wildcats had a nine-game losing streak at one point. However, once district matches began, the team didn't look back, reeling off 13 consecutive wins. The Wildcats finished the regular in season in first place thanks to their undefeated district record, despite having a worse overall record than Hillcrest and Bryan Adams.

In the first round of the playoffs, the team crushed Kimball in straight sets, 3-0. Even though their season ended against Carrollton Creekview, the Wildcats can look back on the 2011 season as a successful one.
