The votes have been counted and the results are in!

Sixty participants gathered at the Highland Park Cafeteria on Sunday evening, October 28, to vote on their favorite foods. They enjoyed a family style feast prepared from time honored recipes that had been safely tucked away in the restaurant’s vault for posterity. Each partaker had the opportunity to rate the item after tasting. The menu included:

  • Appetizers and Salads
    • Argentine Sala
    • Perfection Salad
    • Tomato Aspic
    • Deviled Eggs
    • Shoe Peg Corn Salad
  • Entrees
    • Deviled Crab
    • Salisbury Steak
    • Baked Turkey Wings
    • Turkey Mushroom Casserole
    • Chicken and Dumplings
  • Vegetables and Sides
    • Fried Green Tomatoes
    • Prunes
    • Green Rice
    • Maple Sugar Carrots
    • Rutabagas
  • Desserts
    • Millionaire Pie 
    • Rhubarb Pie
    • Coca Cola Cake
    • Banana Pudding

And the winners are: Shoe Peg Corn Salad, Turkey Mushroom Casserole, Fried Green Tomatoes and Banana Pudding.

These items will be available on the cafeteria line on certain days of the week for diners to enjoy.

Items that are no longer served in the cafeteria line and will not be brought back at this time can still be enjoyed by special order.
