Trek for Tech The Sign Says It All: Trek for Tech goes over the top, raising $52,000 for new technology.

When hundreds of people take to the streets for a good cause, a lot can happen.

Lakehill Preparatory School's 14th Annual Trek for Tech, the Parent Faculty Club's signature fall event, combined all the right elements, including two great races, dedicated sponsors, enthusiastic volunteers, a raffle with fantastic prizes, live music, and beautiful weather. The results were a great time for all who attended and a record-breaking $52,000 raised for new technology.

Students, families, and faculty members put their best foot forward in the one-mile Fun Run while a large crowd hit the pavement for the 5K chip-timed race. Attendees were also treated to a live performance by Sterling Gavinski and Bradley Barteau of  The Happy Alright.

For the third time in the 14-year history of the race, two Lakehill students were the top overall male and female runners. Junior Drew Norman was the first place overall male with a time of 19:25. For the second consecutive year, junior Emily Allton was the top overall female runner with a time of 20:55.

The winner of Run, Roger, Run was Lisa Bracken, correctly guessing Mr. Perry's time in the Fun Run. Jack Curtis was on the mark in Lakehill Lightning, pegging the fastest 5K Race time at 19:25.

Organizers report that 335 people registered for this year's event, a 17% over last year. The Trek committee reports that they will be able to fund every item on the list of technology essentials.

The Trek Committee thanks those companies, individuals, and families who supported the race through underwriting and equipment purchases, and all the faculty members and parent volunteers who made the event the success.

Lakehill thanks Barb and Amy Witherite for chairing this event and for their herculean efforts in making this the most successful Trek for Tech in Lakehill history.
