WW Wildcat Band in Deep Ellum -- photo - Victor Aves

This evening was a great evening to sit on the patio and enjoy great music and great food!

Last night was the evening of the final "Dine and Donate" for the Woodrow Wildcat Band as the Jazz Band was featured at Bucky Moonshine's a fantastic Cajun-themed restaurant owned by Woodrow alum, Ivan Pugh. Members of the crowd included complete strangers that just came up off the street, parents, friends and even East Dallas residents who had heard about the event on social media and had no children in school! The band played fan favorites like Danny Boy, Oye Como Va and other tunes including the wonderful Woodrow Wilson HS fight song as a finale.

For the Seniors in the Jazz Band, this will be their last public performance before they walk across the stage and into their next phase in life. You could tell there was some excitement in the eyes of those Seniors, but also some sadness to see their band family go. Band Director, Chris Evetts even said this group was one of the best he has ever had and the street crowd in Deep Ellum seemed to agree.
