One of the oldest residences in Dallas, The C.H. Alexander Mansion, is a city treasure. It is located at 4607 Ross Avenue, Dallas, TX 75204.

When built in 1906 by businessman C. H. Alexander, at the astronomical cost of $125,000, the Alexander Mansion was the setting for glittering social life. In 1930, the mansion became home to the Dallas Women’s Forum. It was restored and redecorated in 1967 and became a Texas Historical Landmark in 1968.

During Christmas, it is truly beautiful. New decorations have been added this year, and each room has a different theme and colors, creating an enchanting holiday atmosphere.

Now through Dec. 21, the European Tea Room will be serving tea from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. This is a four-course tea served on fine china, and it includes champagne. Smoked Salmon Napoleon and cherry-almond scone served with cinnamon honey butter and clotted cream are among the tea fancies that you will enjoy.

Tours of the mansion are also available from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

This is a great opportunity for your family to enjoy a traditional tea and perhaps start a new holiday tradition. The price is $45 for adults, which includes tea, champagne, tax and gratuity, and it is $15 for children. The Mansion tour is $5. Reservations for tea and the tour may be made online at www.dallaswomansforum.org or by calling 214-823-4533.

Proceeds will benefit the preservation of the C.H. Alexander Mansion and the charities of the Dallas Woman’s Forum.
