Four years ago Cindy Maya’s manager at Republic Title in Lakewood suggested that Cindy head up a charitable project for their branch office.
It so happened that the Lakewood branch of the title company was a female-dominated office so what better cause than breast cancer? Plus Cindy’s mom and sister were breast cancer survivors and she had lost a friend’s mom to the disease. Breast cancer eventually touches most of our lives and Cindy was no exception. With enthusiastic support from the staff, Cindy organized the Pink Party: Party for a Cause.
Donations from local retailers formed the base for a raffle. In the first three years profits went from $200 to $2000 and this year should be the biggest ever.
Profits from the raffle will be donated to The Bridge Breast Network. The Bridge is a local non-profit organization located at Baylor that helps under insured and non-insured people with breast cancer receive the help they need.
The Pink Party wil be held at Republic Title, 6348 Gaston Avenue on October 11, 2012 between 4pm and 6 pm. Refreshments will be served and raffle tickets will be available for purchase at $5.00 for 1 ticket or $20.00 for 5 tickets. Great prizes are being raffled! An added bonus to the benefit, it helps Republic Title accomplish their 20 service project initiative as they celebrate their 20th anniversary.
