Texans Can Academies' Summer Meals Program.jpg

One in five children struggle with hunger, and Texans Can Academies aims to satisfy this need. Texans Can Academies’ Summer Meal Programs seeks to make a difference in their communities by providing meals at no cost to children up to 18 years of age. Participating families do not have to apply, register or provide identification. Due to COVID-19, meals will be served curbside.

Texans Can Academies’ Summer Meal Programs school sites are at the following locations:

  • Texans Can Academy - Dallas Grant East (2901 Morgan Drive, Dallas, TX 75241)

  • Texans Can Academy - Dallas Oak Cliff (325 W. 12th Street, Dallas, TX 75208)

  • Texans Can Academy - Dallas Pleasant Grove (1227 N. Masters, Dallas, TX 75217)

  • Texans Can Academy - Fort Worth Westcreek (6620 Westcreek, Fort Worth, TX 76133)

The Summer Meal Programs will operate from June 1, 2020 to July 31, 2020, Monday through Thursday. Serving times for breakfast are 8:30am to 9:30am, and lunch is served from 11:30am to 12:30pm. Food is distributed until supplies run out.

Texans Can Academies are a unique network of 14 dropout prevention and recovery schools located in Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, Houston and San Antonio. The schools are tuition-free, open enrollment, public high schools of choice serving students who have struggled in a traditional high school setting.  

Texans Can Academies aims to address the wellbeing of their students and remove any barriers in receiving a quality education and graduating high school. The schools provide breakfast and lunch to all enrolled students, eye exams and prescription eyeglasses, health screenings, professional counseling services, among many other needs, at no cost to students.
