J.L, Long Bucs 6th grade Spring team

What a time to be a soccer fan!! With fantastic play World Cup  and Gold Cup Soccer still in play it might be easy to forget about local soccer, however, in its continuing tradition of giving new sixth grade students at J.L. Long Middle School an opportunity to play team sports, the White Rock YMCA and JL Long PTA are hoping for another great season of sixth grade soccer!   Under UIL Rules, sixth grade students cannot participate in school team sports, so this is a fantastic opportunity for children to stay active. Teams are open to all incoming sixth grade boys and girls of all skill levels!

The teams will consist of 14+ players and the team will be co-ed. Registration is at the White Rock YMCA, games are played locally, usually on Saturday and practices are held at Randall Park (across from Woodrow Wilson H.S.) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.  Registration for Fall play started June 15th  and ends August 12th (officially).

The first game is scheduled first week of September  and the cost is $65 for YMCA member and $105 for non-members. Financial assistance is available for those in need. Register in person (highly recommended) or online at -- Please register as JL Long team member, coach Aves.

For more information or questions, please contact Rodney Black at 214-328-3849 or or Victor Aves at 214-616-0194
