February is here! It's the month of Valentine's Day, Mardi Gras, President's Day, and so much more. Here are some of the best events taking place in the DFW area over the course of the month. Keep reading to learn about plays, festivals, and other amazing events that are taking place right in your backyard. 

DFW Winter Boat Expo (February 8 - 10) 

More than 650 watercraft models and boats will be on display this coming weekend in Dallas! Stop by to visit with boat dealers and check out over 150 awesome vendor booths. Whether you're looking to purchase a boat or just hoping to have a fun time, this is the place to be. Tickets range between $6 and $12. To learn more, click here

Mardi Gras at the Dallas Farmers Market (February 9)  


Ready to eat some Cajun food and jam out to live jazz? Stop by the Dallas Farmer's Market between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM this Friday. There will be food trucks, beer specials, and plenty of New Orleans-themed celebrations. Who needs to go to Louisiana when you can enjoy the holiday right here in Dallas? 

2018 Dallas County PawPalooza (February 10) 


Bring your furry best friends along to this unique event on Saturday. It's free to attend, but all of the donations received will benefit service animals! Browse pups that are available for adoption, give your pet a bath, or simply enjoy the available food while spending time with friendly four-legged companions. The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show 
at Dallas Children's Theater (Select Dates February 10 - 25) 


Family members of all ages will have a blast with this adaptation of the beloved children's storybook. Tickets are already selling out, so if you want to take your children to this show full of puppets, captivating scenery, and of course, a hungry caterpillar, purchase them now

A Day of Magic Managed at South Fork Ranch (February 10 - 11) 


Calling all fans of the wizarding world! This magical event is perfect for every Muggle who wants to be a Hogwarts student for a day. There will be a costume contest, trivia, and even classes for the aspiring witches and wizards. Sip on a pint of Butterbeer as you bond with fellow Harry Potter fans and take pictures of live owls. North Texas Comic Book Show With Jim Starlin (February 10 - 11) 


The Irving Convention Center will be home to a family-friendly comics and cosplay event this coming weekend. Check out great artists, cool costumes, and plenty of comic dealers. If you've been overwhelmed by the crowds of larger comic conventions, don't worry: this event is reasonably-sized and great for groups with children. Chinese New Year Festival 2018 at Klyde Warren Park (February 17) 


2018 is the Year of the Dog, and it's time to celebrate it! Stop by Klyde Warren to ring in the new year with furry companions, performers, food, and fireworks. You can even bring along your own four-legged best friend for puppy portraits and pampering! There will also be dogs available for adoption from several rescue centers. Mourning a President - A Special Exhibition on the Funeral of John F. Kennedy (Now - February 19) 


If you haven't stopped by this exhibition yet, this is your last month to do so. The event takes a deep look at John F. Kennedy's unforgettable funeral. It includes relics from the special day, including cards, flags, photos, and films. Admission to the temporary exhibit comes with your ticket to The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. 

Dallas Zoo Penguin Days (Now - February 28) 


Think it's too cold to meander around Dallas' beloved zoo? Think again! The zoo is offering $7 admission through the end of the month, so grab the family and check out their newest exhibits. Tickets are available online now. 

Frankenstein at the Dallas Theater Center (Select Dates February 6 - March 4) 

You know the story of Dr. Franketein and his horrifying monster, but have you ever seen the tale told on stage? This classic novel has been adapted for a live audience and is full of shocking twists and turns.
