Come to Jimmy’s Food Store at Fitzhugh and Bryan Streets Saturday, October 20 between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM to meet Wheels, spokes dog for Recipes and Recollections, Vickery Place Cooking Since 1911.   Co-editors of the cookbook, Kathy Harris and Shelia Huffman, will have sample recipes from the cookbook for tastings. 

Profits from the cookbook go to Senior Pet Assistance Network, SPAN, the East Dallas organization that provides pet food and basic veterinary needs for low income senior citizens to help ensure that they can care for their pet. 

A beloved pet is often the only companion of a senior citizen. Imagine having to give up your pet because you can not afford to care for it. SPAN is a wonderful organization run by volunteers that supplies and delivers food helping to keep seniors and their pet together.
