The Wildcat Swimming Women Celebrate First Place Photo by Miguel Domingues Santaella
At the All-City Swim Meet at Loos natatorium, the Woodrow Wildcat Swimmers proved again they rule the pool. Woodrow Girls are District Champs for a third straight year and the Boys were Runners Up. Woodrow competed against 18 other DISD High Schools to finish first and second respectively.
 
Wildcat Swimmers had strong showings in all the relays. Stand out events for the Lady Wildcats include Girls 50 Free with Woodrow sweeping places 1-5, Girls 100 Free sweeping places 1-4, Girls 500 Free winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd, Girls 100 Backstroke placed 1st and 4th, Girls Breaststroke finished 1st and 2nd. Woodrow Boys finished 3rd and 6th in the 100 Free, placed 2nd and 5th in the 200 Free, they took 2nd, 3rd and 5th in the 500 Free, Boys 100 Backstroke placed 4th and Boys 100 Breaststroke finished 2nd and 3rd.
 
Woodrow Swim is lead by team Captains: Annabelle Furrh, Claire Gustafson, Javier Herrera, Adam Becker and Thomas Farner. This amazing team is coached by Brook Varner and Caitlin Knoll. Please congratulate your Wildcat Swimmers on a great win! Woodrow goes to Regionals January 19, 2018
