FIRST BAPTIST ACADEMY ANNOUNCES RIBBON CUTTING AT NEW CAMPUS COMMUNITY MEMBERS INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN RIBBON CUTTING ACTIVITIES

Dallas, Texas – January 2, 2018 - First Baptist Academy will hold its official ribbon cutting ceremony at the site of its recently completed academic campus on Tuesday, January 16, at 6:00 p.m. Address for the event is 7898 Samuell Boulevard, Dallas, Texas 75228.

The first phase of a multi-phase redevelopment opened on November 27, 2017 to 240 current students. This initial phase includes over 25,000 square feet of state of the art classroom space with collaborative workspaces and upgraded technology. FBA has already begun work on the second phase of the project, which includes new baseball and softball fields that are scheduled to be complete in Spring 2018.

Head of School Jason Lovvorn stated, “After 45 years in downtown Dallas, we are excited that First Baptist Academy's Christ-centered, college preparatory education has a new campus to call home. The new school building on our 20-acre campus allows us to enrich outdoor education, increase technology in the classroom, and enhance our strong FBA family atmosphere.”

In early 2016, First Baptist Academy launched the largest capital campaign in its history: “Pressing Toward the Goal” led by Co-Chairs Patty and Mark Lovvorn and Melanie and Bill Rogers. The school’s initial goal of raising $3.5 million for this project was surpassed, with over $4.9 million given and pledged. Generous donors include Lynn and Meredith Black, Jim and Geneva Donald, First Baptist Dallas, Jonathan and Margie Frank, Brent and Linda Gee, Jarrett and Lori Hale, Hope Charitable Foundation, Hillcrest Foundation, Andy Horner, Donald Riggs, Ricky and Rachel Riggs, Orville Rogers, and Graham and Suzanne Thompson, in addition to FBA’s school board, parents, and staff.

Mr. Lovvorn added, “The future is bright at First Baptist Academy! Join us at our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 6:00 p.m., January 16 as we celebrate God’s continued blessings on FBA.”

First Baptist Academy is a Pre-K through 12th grade school providing a Christian, college preparatory curriculum accredited through ACTABS and AdvancED. From its beginning in 1972, over 2,000 students have graduated from FBA. Currently, FBA serves families from more than 90 zip codes within the DFW Metroplex.
