What does it take for a high school athlete to be able to perform at the collegiate level? Author Malcolm Gladwell says it takes 10,000 hours to master something; well, these athletes clocked in 10,000 hours most likely by middle school! Those hours of hard work, skill and dedication has taken seven athletes from Woodrow to this collegiate level, and Signing Day was a celebration of their hard work.
Congratulations to Ashtyn Van Horn committing to Iona College for soccer; Joseph Contreras committing to Dallas Christian College for baseball; Porsche Johnson to Northern Vermont University for volleyball; Austin Parks to Weatherford College for baseball; Sean Berry to UTSA for football; Xavier Gipson to Stephen F. Austin for football; and Z'Core Brooks to the University of Missouri for football.
We know these wonderful athletes will take a small piece of Woodrow with them in their travels, and that they will always remember--Keep Thy Heart With All Diligence; For Out of It Are The Issues Of Life. Go Wildcats!
