In celebration of the Dallas St. Patrick’s Day Parade’s 40th year, The Greenville Avenue Area Business Association (GAABA) is honored to award $45,000 in scholarships to 9 Dallas ISD seniors from 3 high schools, which are Woodrow Wilson, North Dallas and Emmet J. Conrad. GAABA’s college scholarship program is funded through its annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and serves students who attend Greenville Avenue area high schools.
The scholarships were distributed by the students’ class rank and are as follows:
North Dallas: Huong Le, ranked 1 ($7,000); Blanca Garcia, ranked 2 ($5,000); Chelsey Nguyen, ranked 3 ($3,000);
Conrad: Kai Ja, ranked 1 ($7,000); Ashley Hidalgo, ranked 2 ($5,000); Frishta Nasari, ranked 3 ($3,000); and
Woodrow Wilson: Katherynn Susa, ranked 1 ($7,000); Alyssa Amaya, ranked 2 ($5,000); Paola Ramirez-Coss, ranked 3 ($3,000).

BACKGROUND:
The Dallas St. Patrick’s Parade & Festival is one of the largest St. Patrick's Parades in the country, with over 125,000 attendees and more than 100 parade entries. Proceeds benefit the GAABA Scholarship Funds benefiting Dallas ISD Seniors; to date, more than $150,000 in scholarships has been awarded. The Greenville Avenue Area Business Association (GAABA) was formed in 1987 to unify and promote Greenville Avenue area businesses. Its first objective is and always will be the presentation of the annual Dallas Mavs St. Patrick’s Parade & Festival.
