Guest speaker, Juan Cuervo, CRNA and MSNA at Parkland Hospital, conveyed the importance of delayed gratification to 5th grade students at Bayles Elementary in East Dallas. Nurse Cuervo, from Columbia, came to the U.S. at 20 where he obtained his degree in nursing and decided that he could help more people if he obtained his masters. He recounted how he had to delay and continue on with 4 more years of education to obtain his Masters Degree from Texas Wesleyan University. Nurse Cuervo was the latest guest speaker for Empower Your Future at Bayles Elementary motivating students to Endure, Persevere and Educate so that they are not limited in life.
