Park Cities Christmas Dolls and Toys Drive

Kickoff for drive featured talk and display of rare dolls owned by a senior resident of The Preston of the Park Cities

For nine decades, Virginia Myers, 99, and her daughter, Brenda Myers, 66, have channeled their mutual love of dolls into a collection that numbers in the hundreds. Now, their passion has inspired a “Christmas Dolls and Toys Drive” sponsored by Virginia’s senior living community to ensure that homeless children in North Texas have a special doll or toy to love this holiday season.

Surrounded by dozens of antique, vintage, and modern play and artist dolls from their personal collection, Brenda Myers discussed “Dolls Through The Decades” at an event for residents and family members on November 19 that served as the kickoff for The Preston of the Park Cities “Christmas Dolls and Toys Drive”.

Donated dolls and toys from the drive will be given to Hope Supply Co., a North Texas nonprofit dedicated to meeting critical needs and enhancing the lives of homeless and at-risk children, on Wednesday, December 15, at 3:00 pm, during a festive “Dolls and Toys Christmas Tea Party” at the community.

The Preston of the Park Cities “Christmas Dolls and Toys Drive” is open to the public now through December 15 for donations of new dolls and toys for children ages 0-18. The community is located at 5917 Sherry Lane, Dallas 75225, parkcities.watermarkcommunities.com/.
