Yesterday evening the JL Long Bucs 6th grade soccer played a late game at 6:15 PM and we honored our annual tradition of a pizza party at CiCi’s after the game. Unfortunately, the soccer game did not go the way the Bucs wanted it to go and they lost, but the score did not reflect the efforts on the field. This has been a season of learning and getting to understand the game. With over 50% of the team either not ever playing the sport or not having played since elementary school, the team has done fairly well. The score was all but forgotten upon arrival at CiCi’s as pizza, breadsticks, pasta and yes even some salads were being devoured. Ah, and of course the arcade…many prizes and happy faces ensued. The Bucs have one more game for this Fall season and although there is still work to be done, many players have blossomed and are surprising the coaches with their skillsets.
