Camp John Marc Launches Annual Campership Drive for Children with Chronic Medical Conditions and Their Families

Over the last thirty years, Camp John Marc has been privileged to serve over 74,000 campers and their families at their specialized camp facilities in Bosque County. In partnership with Dallas-Fort Worth area pediatric hospitals, Camp John Marc serves children, teens and families living with chronic medical and physical challenges at their uniquely designed camp facility. This year, with updated safety protocols, campers and their families can enjoy s’mores around a campfire, fish, play disc-golf, and explore nature through a socially distant, stress-free weekend at Camp, known as the Family Escape Program.

In addition, our online program, CAMP IS MORE THAN A PLACE, provides campers the opportunity to take part in camp games like cup-stacking and teddy bear zipline, express thanks on our Wall of Gratitude and experience the traditions of Camp through recorded and live videos. In the summer and fall of 2020, Camp John Marc served 7,300 online participants through this program. Anyone may join by going to www.campjohnmarc.org and clicking on “Online Camp.”

There is no cost for campers to participate in either program. During our annual Campership Drive, we raise funds to cover the $390 cost for each camper and their family to attend camp. Donations of any amount are welcome and all donations are used to fund the camp experience for children and their families. Anyone wishing to contribute can go to www.campjohnmarc.org and click on DONATE at the top of the home page. For more information, please call 214-360-0056 or email mail@campjohnmarc.org. The Campership Drive will continue through May 28.

The Mission:

Camp John Marc inspires confidence for life through high-quality camping programs for children, teens, and families. Year- round programming and specialized camp facilities are uniquely designed in partnership with Dallas-Fort Worth area pediatric hospitals, community volunteers, and health organizations who are dedicated to serving campers living with chronic medical and physical challenges. The dignity of each camper is nurtured at Camp John Marc as well as in the community through its outreach programs.
