U.S. Representative Jeb Hensarling will present the annual Hensarling Award for Business of the Year at the Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce's annual Business Awards Luncheon, which will be held Tuesday, August 20 at Lakewood Country Club at 6430 Gaston Ave. The Chamber will also present its Entrepreneur of the Year, Chairman’s Award and Live Local Award at the event. The luncheon networking will begin at 11:30 a.m. with the lunch and program starting at 12 p.m. Tickets are $30 for members and $35 for guests.

"We are pleased that Congressman Hensarling can join us for this event, which brings together members of the community as we recognize those business owners who are making outstanding contributions to the vitality of Greater East Dallas," said Roger Perry, chairman of the GEDCC. "We encourage all entrepreneurs and businesses in East Dallas to submit nominations for these awards."

The Award descriptions are as follows:

• The Hensarling Award for Business of the Year recognizes the outstanding East Dallas business of the year. 

• Entrepreneur of the Year is presented for Entrepreneurial Achievements and noted Individual Successes during the past year.

• Chairman’s Award is presented for Outstanding Community and Chamber Support by a company and/or an individual associated with the company who has made an outstanding contribution to the community and to the Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce.

• Live Local Award is presented to recognize a small business/small business owner in East Dallas, who is a community leader who supports and gives back to the community.
