The J.L. Long Buccaneers Soccer team started it's 21st season this Spring with a group of 14 solid players. The team's first practice was first postponed by the bitter cold, then the 2nd week by ice and snow, the third week by rain. So, today on a beautiful sunny day those 14 players all came together to practice for the first time! Many of the players were returning players from the Fall 2020 season, but some are new to the team. What makes this group unique is that in the 10+ years that this team has played, there have never been 3 groups of siblings all playing on the same team. This year is different. Every Spring we reach out to our 5th grade feeder pattern and recruit for the 6th grade team and this year we did not have to go far and we even have a 4th grader this season as well. Our younger siblings come to the team from Geneva Heights and Mockingbird Elementary. The brothers and sisters reluctantly posed for the photo opportunity but said they would work hard at making this team a success and have fun! Wish the Bucs luck as they take on the Blazers in Richardson at Lookout Park this Saturday!
