DALLAS: Council for Life hosted the first ever Virtual Pastors’ Coffee with Dr. Voddie Baucham of Voddie Baucham Ministries on Thursday, January 14, 2021. The goal of this event is to bring pastors and ministry leaders together from around the city to encourage, inspire and equip them to "Stand Together for Life" in their churches and communities. Tuning in via zoom, area pastors and many life-affirming organizations around DFW listened to Dr. Baucham share his message on The Theology of Life: A Biblical Worldview on Abortion. 

Reverend Phillip Jones of All Saints Dallas moderated the event as Voddie made the Bible clear and demonstrated the relevance of God’s word to the issue of Life and Abortion. Voddie did so without compromising the centrality of Christ and the gospel. Beginning in the first Chapter of Genesis, Voddie took attendees on a journey throughout the Bible and shared pastoral tools to “fight the fight” of abortion from the pulpit: prayer, reconicilation, promoting the prolife message and educational events, such as the Virtual Pastors’ Coffee.

“A few months ago we had a call with Voddie and he was kind of tough on us.” said 2021-22 Council for Life President Lee Ann Morris. “He made us face the fact that there are clergy who accept and even encourage abortion. That is why we must educate, celebrate and inspire all pastors to stand Together for Life.”

Voddie Baucham wears many hats as a husband, father, pastor, author, professor, international speaker, and church planter. He currently serves as Dean of Theology at African Christian University in Lusaka, Zambia. Later in January, upon returning to Africa, Voddie became seriously ill. Thanks to the dedication of Pastors' Coffee Chairs Claudia Jones, Rivers Teske, and Linda Vandercook, the virtual coffee was a huge success, imparting to attendees an impactful, encouraging message about being effective advocates for Life for the flocks to which they are entrusted.
