Lakehill Volleyball celebrates 1st place finish in Ellis County Tournament.

The Lakehill Preparatory School Varsity Girls Volleyball team went 6-0 and won the Ellis County Volleyball Invitational Tournament at Ovilla Christian on September 6-7.

The Warriors defeated Ovilla Christian, Canyon Creek, and First Baptist on Friday in pool play. The team went on to beat Lucas Christian in the first round of bracket play, and Texoma Christian in the semi-finals to make it to the championship game against Lakehill's biggest district rival, Dallas Covenant.

The Lady Warriors won the first set, lost the second, and came back to win the deciding third set 16-14. In the exciting conclusion, Covenant had Lakehill down 11-14. The Warriors fought off three game points to tie it up before scoring the final two points of the game.

The Varsity girls continued their winning streak on September 10 against Shelton and on September 12 against Stone Gate. The Lady Warriors finished their non-district schedule with a 20-2 record. They begin district play on Monday at Cambridge.
