J.L. Long Middle School's biggest fundraiser is coming up, and they're still in need of some volunteers and helping hands. The Long Run, now in its 15th year, is scheduled for Thursday, October 6 from 4:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. The school and PTA are counting on the fundraising event to help bolster the budgets of multiple school organizations and clubs.

The run begins and ends at the front lawn of J.L. Long Middle School. There are two sections - the PTA sponsored 5K and a 1-mile fun run/walk - and there are multiple divisions to keep the playing field level. After the races, there will be food, refreshments and entertainment for everyone.

The school still needs help with the clean up crew after the race and with food setup and serving. Anyone interested in helping out or participating can learn more at the J.L. Long website.
