Fun for All the Boys and Ghouls: HSMNA Halloween Spooktacular Will Have Something for Everyone

Looking for some Halloween fun for the entire family, including Fido?

Then the Hollywood/Santa Monica Neighborhood Association’s latest event is for you.

On Sunday, October 23rd, the HSMNA is hosting a “Halloween Spooktacular” at Lindsley Park. The event, which goes from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., features a variety of fun, family-friendly activities.

Guests are invited to get dressed up in their most creative Halloween garb for a chance to win the costume contest or try to win a delicious treat during the cake walk! There’ll be plenty of fun games for the kids, a raffle, and also pumpkin and face painting.

And if you think you’ve got the world’s best chili recipe, then be sure to enter the Chili Cook-Off.  A $10 donation to Animal Allies of Texas is requested for entry into the competition. Prizes will go to the “Texas Traditional Bowl of the Red,” “Best Any Style Chili,” “Showmanship-Best Booth Presentation,” and also a “People’s Choice” vote.

Not a whiz at whipping up chili? Then try your hand at beer brewing during the 1st Annual Beer Brooo Off. Home brewers and micro brewers will share their frothy drinks during the Halloween Spooktacular and Chili Cook-Off on Sunday.

Finally, don’t forget to bring your furry friends in their Halloween best and enter them in the pet costume contest! There’ll be prizes for the cutest, funniest, scariest, most original and best in show costumes, so be sure to enter your pet! Just remember to keep your cat, rabbit, snake, etc. in an appropriate carrier and dogs must be on a leash.
