Teammates Jaelynn Villanueva and Soliel Vasquez huddle together to keep warm while watching their teammates play during Saturday's game.

Earlier today, the J.L. Long Buccaneers 6th Grade Soccer team participated in the Richardson YMCA Shootout Tournament.  The Buccaneers finished in 2nd place in their team's division for the season and were seeded high.  Expectations from coaches, parents and team members were high as well.  The morning was cold and a little breezy, but the players braved the weather and showed up to play and face the Dealy Dragons Blue team who were undefeated in play for their league's division.  Although the Bucs played hard, the Dealy Dragons breathed their fire down on the Bucs and proved they had a better team; at least for this showdown.  Kudos to Jasmin Sanchez who scored the Bucs only goal.  The final score for the game was 7-1.  Although a bit disappointed, the Bucs team knew they played well and are ready to conquer yet another season the next Spring!  For more information on J.L. Long Buccaneer Soccer, contact Matt Davis, Sports Director at the White Rock YMCA or at 214-328-3849 or coach Victor Aves at 214-616-0194.
