National Night Out is a nation-wide event created to foster and strengthen relationship within the community and with public service organizations such as the police, city departments and charitable organizations that serve the community. Neighborhood Associations all across America will be hosting a National Night Out party on Tuesday, October 4.

Representatives for the police department, fire department and city departments will be available to talk and discuss neighborhood safety and crime prevention. Here are some of the National Night Out parties that will be happening in the Lakewood area:

VICKERY PLACE NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION

  • 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • Glencoe between Miller and Willis
  • Bratwursts/hot dogs
  • Beer, water and soft drinks
  • Raffle drawing
  • Centennial gift items for sale

GREENLAND HILLS NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION

  • 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • Block party on the 5200 block of Ridgedale

LAKEWOOD HEIGHTS/LOWER GREENVILLE NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATIONS

  • 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
  • Tietze Park
  • Hot dogs/hamburgers from Skillman Church of Christ
  • Pie eating contest
  • Carter Bloodmobile
  • Vickery Place Animal Hospital/Canine Country Club offering discounted microchipping

CASA LINDA/LITTLE FOREST HILLS NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATIONS

  • 6:00 p.m.
  • Casa Linda Park
  • Hot dogs/chips/drinks

WILSHIRE HEIGHTS NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION

  • 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • Corner of Norris and Kenwood
  • Hot dogs/desserts/soft drinks
