A unit from Woodrow Wilson High School marched in today's Veteran's Day Parade in Downtown Dallas. Woodrow has a long history in the parade. From the late 1920s through the mid 1950s, the school had the nation's largest ROTC program. During World War II, the student body raised enough money to purchase a Wildcat (the school mascot) fighter plane for U.S. forces.

Woodrow was once known as "the Texas A&M of high schools" for its miltary operations (complete with obstacle course adjoining Lakewood Country Club and two ROTC bands).  Wednesday Parade on the football field was a time-honored tradition.
