Woodrow Wilson runningback Tracy James (15) is forced out of bounds at the 1-yard line by Bryan Adam defenders Jeneno Botinelli (7) and Nathan Stewart (10).

Woodrow Wilson defeated Bryan Adams 33-14, Nov 7 at Franklin Stadium to earn a spot in this years Class 5A Division II playoffs.  Woodrow (6-4, 4-3) led 20-7 at half-time but the Bryan Adams Cougars roared back with a touchdown at the opening of the third quarter to cut the deficit to 7 points.  Bryan Adams (4-6, 3-4) crossed mid field into the red-zone several times in the second half, but penalties, turnovers, and a stubborn Wildcat defense kept the Cougars scoreless for the remainder of the game and allowed the Wildcats to take home the "Lady-of-the-Lake" trophy for a second year in a row.

This year, prior to the game, team captains from the class of '68 met at midfield along with the current team captains for the coin toss.  Woodrow's Ken Kuesel and BA's Randy Dossett and Scot Miles shook hands and then Kuesel made the winning call "heads" for Woodrow.  These three captains subsequently played football together at SMU and remain good friends today.

The Class of ’68 captain coin toss, Woodrow Senior night, Sweetheart and Belle Drill teams, Woodrow and BA Bands, JL Long middle school band, Cheerleaders, and the overall rivalry added up to a very colorful night at Franklin Stadium.

Woodrow (6-4, 4-3) will face Mesquite Poteet 7:30pm, Friday, Nov 14 at Williams Stadium in Garland.
