School has just ended and summer has just started, but people are already counting down the days until football starts up again in the fall. To help get the community pumped up, Woodrow Wilson High School recently released the football team's 2012 schedule, so people can start circling days in the calendar.

Last season, the Woodrow Wilson football team stormed its way to the top of District 12-4A. The team concluded the regular season with a 9-1 season and made it to the second round of the playoffs before bowing out to Highland Park High School. However, before the Wildcats can think about repeating last year's success, they will need to replace their top three play makers on offense - quarterback Piers Christian, running back Shaquille Dottin and wide receiver Andre Plata.

The Wildcats will start off the 2012 season with two straight home games - one against Kimball High School (8/31) and the other against Fort Worth Eastern Hills (9/6). Woodrow Wilson will play its first away game against The Colony High School (9/14) before taking its bye week.

After their bye week, the team will begin district play with an away game against Spruce High School (9/28). Following that game, the Wildcats will play last year's district runner-up Lincoln High School (10/5) for their homecoming game. Woodrow Wilson's final games will be against Conrad High School (10/11), Bryan Adams High School (10/19), Samuell High School (10/25), Thomas Jefferson High School (11/2) and Hillcrest High School (11/9).

All games - except for Fort Worth Eastern Hills and Samuell - will be played at 7:30 p.m. The junior varsity games will all start at 6:00 p.m.
