Woodrow was the home team at Franklin Field, and it showed--the home team stands were jam packed with students of all grades, their parents and many members of the east Dallas community, and all kinds of school groups celebrating what high school is all about. Truly, everyone who attends Woodrow has a place at the football games--the celebrated Band, award winning Sweethearts, the ROTC students who are in charge of the new Wildcat Tunnel, photographers from Yearbook, both JV and Varsity cheerleaders, Wendy & Willy Wildcat mascots, students selling brand new color programs, all kinds of booster clubs, and on and on. This inclusive atmosphere is the essence of Wildcat Spirit.
The Varsity football team rose to the occasion and sealed a win against the formidable Frisco High School. The game was super competitive, but after a couple of key interceptions, Woodrow beat Frisco HS 17 - 14. This was a sweet redemption match, as last year Frisco beat Woodrow in another close game.
There is plenty of time to discover the Wildcat Spirit yourself! Find out why, years after leaving high school, you will see many former students, athletes, teachers, and parents who will forever cheer on the Wildcats. Come join us for Friday Night Lights at its best; Woodrow Wilson High School shines bright--go Wildcats!
Thank you Maribel for all photos except the Woodrow stands shot by a Frisco parent.
