In case anyone was unable to make the J.L. Long Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament back in late January, Woodrow Wilson High School will be holding a similar tournament on Thursday, February 23 for its graduating class of 2013. The event will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Church between 6:30 - 10:00 p.m.

This will be a fun social event with free food and drink for all in attendance. For those whom have never played before or need a refresher, there will be professional dealers on-hand to teach the rules and give demonstrations. Even those that aren't interested in playing are invited to come on out and socialize with other residents of Lakewood.

Of course, those that play won't be doing so just for fun. The Woodrow Wilson PTA has put together a fine assortment of gifts, including a Kindle Fire, sporting tickets, restaurant gift certificates, and dinner at Palomino with a one night stay at the Crescent Hotel including breakfast and valet.

Tickets for the poker tournament are $80 in advance and $100 at the door. If knocked out, players can buy back in for $50. Social tickets can also be purchased by those that want to attend but don't want to play poker for $25. Again, everyone who attends will get free food and drink.

All proceeds from this event will benefit the Woodrow Wilson High School class of 2013. The money will go towards a class gift to the school, class community service projects, graduation activities and financial assistance. To learn more or to reserve a spot in the tournament, contact Mary Alice Garrison at or by phone (214.543.7075).
