Woodrow Come and Take It Woodrow dared Poteet to take a victory but they fell woefully short.

The Woodrow Wilson Wildcats take on Frisco Centennial in the second round of the UIL state basketball championships at 7 pm on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Plano Senior High School. 

The Wildcats are coming off a huge victory over playoff rival Mesquite Poteet. The final was Woodrow 82, Poteet 41 after a 44 – 16 run.  Mykeus Woods scored 23 points and Carlos Simpson 20. Donavhn Booker was next with eleven.

Woodrow has several players leading in regular season stats.  Mark Crowe is number one in 5-A  with the most rebounds, 355 for a 14.8 average.  Carlos Simpson had 243 points, for an average of 16.2 per game.  Carlos is also number two in 5-A with 105 assists.  Shakshi Davis made 29 three-point field goals and Woodrow was seventh in team defense, holding opponents to an average 52.3 points.

In 2015 Woodrow made it to the Texas 4-A regional championship game, losing to Lancaster, which won the state championship three games later.

The winner of this game will play the victor of the Frisco Liberty and Rockwall-Heath contest.
