A house on the 5300 block of Miller Avenue was ravaged by fire on the morning of Tuesday, December 13 and while the Flores family was able to make it out safely with only minor injuries, most of their possessions were lost in the blaze. The Vickery Place Neighborhood Association is calling on its residents to help out of their own in this time of need.

The neighborhood association is asking residents to pool together resources to give to the Flores family. According to the Vickery Place website, the main needs are clothings, food and gift cards to Wal-Mart and Target. Donations of any kind can be dropped off at the consolidation point at 5555 Vickery. The goal for the Vickery Place Neighborhood Association is to deliver the donations to the Flores family on Friday, December 23, just in time for the holidays.
