There's still quite a bit of time before school starts up again on Tuesday, January 3 but it isn't too early to sign up for the second annual Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament on Saturday, January 28. The tournament will benefit multiple sports team for J.L. Long Middle School.

The tournament is being held at Backyard Beach Bar at 7530 E. Grand Avenue. The doors open for check-in at 6:00 p.m. and include appetizers and cocktails. There will be a rules refresher at 6:30 p.m. and then the tournament begins promptly at 7:00 p.m.

The Booster Club has prepared some great prizes for the winners, including a 40" HDTV, a Kindle Fire and wine tasting for 20 at the Times Ten Cellars. In total, there will be over $4,000 in prizes.

If participants register before January 23, then the entry fee is $75. However, after that date, the entry fee goes up to $100. Even non-poker fans will have a great time with free appetizers and happy hour drink specials all night long. There is limited seating available, so reserve a spot today!
