There Might Be No Snow But Everyone Can Still Enjoy the 10K/5K Snowman Shuffle

The Snowman Shuffle originated roughly in 1977 and was an opportunity for runners to run a 10K course around White Rock with a beautiful layer of snow all around them. And the idea worked - for the first year at least. Still, this is Dallas, Texas, where the weather on Christmas Day has been known to reach 70 degrees. That shouldn't dissuade runners from partaking in the 10K/5K Snowman Shuffle though!

The race begins at Winfrey Point at White Rock Lake at 9:00 a.m. Runners will go north on East Lawther (the east shore of the lake) and turn around at the halfway point before returning to Winfrey Point. Runners will need to register and pick-up their packets between January 11 and January 13. It is also possible to register on race day. Click here to learn more and to register.

However, everyone that pre-registers will be guaranteed a 100-percent cotton, long-sleeved shirt. Everyone will be able to partake in refreshments after the race, including Gatorade, soda, beer and a variety of fresh fruit. The awards ceremony is immediately after the race, so stick around. Participants must be on hand to receive their award.

This is the perfect event for those that ate too much over the Winter Holidays and are looking to burn off some extra calories. Get out and run and if you're lucky, there might just be some snow too.
