High school students take AP courses for a wide variation of reasons. Some students do it for the challenge while others use the courses to boost their GPAs. And, of course, students take the AP classes in order to take the AP tests at the course and earn college credit. However, taking the tests may soon get a little pricier.

The state of Texas has provided funding by covering $30 per AP exam for all AP students in the state. Students need only pay $57 per exam instead of $87. However, the state is now considering rescinding the funding. This has not yet been confirmed and likely won't until February. However, it is something for parents and students to keep an eye on.
