A former Woodrow Wilson student, Gustavo Ipiña, was killed in a saddening incident of road rage while on the way back home from work back in the summer of 2004. Ipiña was an honor student with a passion for learning and great kindess for others. His death was tragic but not in vain.

To honor his memory, the Gustavo Ipiña Memorial Scholarship Fund was set up and created in 2006. The GIMS assists ESL students from Woodrow Wilson to further their education at college and universities across America. GIMS looks for students that embody the best of Gustavo Ipiña - his character, work ethic and passion.

Come out and celebrate the 7th Annual GIMS Holiday Party at Bodega Bar on Saturday, December 3. The event wil benefit the Gustavo Ipiña Memorial Scholarship Fund and won't lack for fun. There will be drinks and food and a silent auction that includes jewelry, sports memorabilia and gift certificates.

Admission to the event is $20 and includes a drink ticket and heavy hors d'oeuvres. Don't miss this event for a great cause.
