Built in 1929, the Tudor home at 6629 Gaston Avenue was one of the first houses constructed north of Gaston in the Lakewood subdivision known as Country Club Estates. This historic structure served as the homestead for the Cuellar family for many years, as it was conveniently located near their El Chico restaurant in the Lakewood Shopping Center. Given its position in Dallas dining history, it was appropriate that the home’s kitchen would be enlarged and completed with soapstone counters, onyx backsplash, and an imported European island.

The master suite has a sitting area with a coffee bistro, a wonderful marble bathroom with heated floors, the original claw-foot tub, and a generous custom stained-wood master closet. Both of the other two full bathrooms were remodeled with new materials to match the original bathtubs; one tub sports an aqua tone, while the other is lilac.

The home’s location in the Lakewood Elementary School attendance zone provides amazing views of the Downtown skyline and the Fourth of July fireworks show over the Lakewood Country Club.
