The heat of summer is still bearing down on the land but for gardeners, it's already time to start preparing for the fall season. Gardeners in the Lakewood community are invited to come out to the Stonewall Jackson Elementary School Gardens for a lesson on the best way to transition a garden between the two seasons.

The class will be held on Saturday, August 11 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. It will be taught by Stonewall Jackson's own gardener, Mark Painter. Attendees can enjoy breakfast tacos and coffee to get their day started right and will start a few seedlings of their own to take home and plant.

The class is being offered for $25 per attendee and is for adults only. To sign up for the class, email stonewall.gardens@yahoo.com.
